Barber Shop

Spotted this old school barber shop the other day while walking in the Santa Fe art district...

Greek Town

My bestie picked me up from work and treated me to lunch at Greek Town the other day.  Nothing better than a mid-day Gyro break with someone who always manages to make me laugh.

Fresh Ink

On Saturday I accompanied my sister to the tattoo parlor while she got a cover up tattoo done on her hip, homage to her wonderful dog Louis.  As for me...I got a little fresh ink done myself, the name of a dear friend that passed.  While some people may not understand, it is true that tattoos are addicting....the pain...the buzzing sound of the needle...the thrill of having something permanent etched deep into your skin.

Spring Snow...

Happy Spring!

Paper Art

In need of a thank you gift, low on money and feeling creative...I decided to make a homemade present for a friend who likes owls.  I bought a mini canvass from Hobby Lobby ($3.00) painted it black, cut myself a very simple little owl, tree and hearts from some scrap paper I had lying around, glued them to the dried canvas with a hot glue gun and finished with some simple dots using gold puff paint from my classroom.  Voila, an extremely cheap gift and my friend loved it.  The whole thing took about a whole twenty minutes to create and cost me almost nothing but some time and creativity.

Spring

Although it may not feel like it with all this winter snow, the first vestiges of spring are beginning to surface.  Little buds and blossoms, blades of green grass beginning to poke up through the earth as it wakes up from it's winter slumber.
